Addressing urban mobility challenges
SUMP PLUS
Duration: 2019 - 2023
Funding: Horizon2020
ABSTRACT
SUMP-PLUS is a three-year project, designed to address urban mobility-related challenges and to exploit new opportunities, by developing a strong, rigorous evidence base through co-created City Laboratories approach building, in most cases, on the strengths of the existing SUMPs and SULPs or on developing such plans where they do not exist (in particular, in order to validate a SUMP-lite concept).
This approach is to be demonstrated in six EU cities / city regions: Alba Iulia (RO), Antwerp (BE), KlaipÄ—da (LT), Lucca (IT), Greater Manchester (UK), and Platanias (GR). SUMP-PLUS will develop and apply transition pathways towards more sustainable cities taking into account the need to establish stronger links with other urban system components.
EIP's role in the project
EIP is responsible for providing an analysis of the current engagement situation in the SUMP-PLUS cities and has developed 3 engagement tools that will support cities with major stakeholders involved in mobility, to create links with other economic sectors and to involve citizens in the decision.
